Fall 2024
Public Relations Plan
Two Media Exposure Ideas
1. Host a yoga and mindfulness day on campus
2. Partner with a local yoga instructor
1.
During this event, we would provide educational resources, as well as activities that promote health and wellness. Some of these activities include guest speakers, nutrition tips, meditation classes, group and individual counseling sessions, and wellness check-ups. During this event, we could also ask for volunteers to come and speak about their wellness journey and how yoga has had a positive impact on them. Hosting a free event for health and wellness on campus is an effective choice for the CAPS programs, specifically yoga classes, because it will reach students immediately, as well as give students a visual representation of what being in the program and participating in this service would look like. Along with this, it will also bring in media attention, target a specific audience, and create a positive image for the program. To advertise this event not on social media could include doing things like posting flyers around campus or including it in weekly newsletters to spark interest.

2.
Partnering with a yoga instructor in the Indianapolis area who would be willing to run a beginner friendly yoga class for students interested in the program. Along with providing guided classes, the instructor could also provide education and explain the benefits of what yoga can do for students when it comes to reducing stress and improving your health. During this event we could allow students to have a chance to talk to the instructor and ask questions to gain more insight on the benefits of yoga and how it can be incorporated in your daily life. This is an effective choice for CAPS because it will allow students to form a trusting relationship with an experienced yoga instructor and be more likely to engage in classes in the future. Some ways that this event could be advertised without the use of social media is by posting announcements on the canvas homepage, sending out emails, and by making posters regarding this event.
"With these initiatives put in place, they will help to create a positive image for the CAPS program and increase awareness of services offered and available to students such as yoga."

In conclusion, these ideas not only provide students with resources and real-life experiences that they can take home with them, but also creates more opportunities for CAPS yoga services to expand its outreach efforts and gain more student interest, as well as build a more visible presence within the campus community.
